Hampton Inn (Downtown/City Center)

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

This 11 story, 156 room hotel was constructed for another one of our valued repeat clients.

The less than one acre site presented its challenges along the Andrews Avenue corridor, just North of Broward Boulevard, in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

JJW Construction, Inc. worked closely in preconstruction with the hotel’s owners, architects and designers from the project’s inception.

Ultimately, the project was constructed with JJW Construction’s self performing concrete operations, utilizing a cast in place structure with transfer beams up to the bottom of the third floor. From there, JJW Construction utilized its inventory of Outinord tunnel forming system to complete the structure at a speed of 2 floors per week.

This system also allowed for all M.E.P. rough-ins to be placed into the cast in place demising walls. The walls were then prepped and an acrylic knockdown finish was applied directly to the concrete walls. This not only negated having to frame and drywall all of the demising walls, but also provided for a superior sound transmission rating between adjacent rooms.

An eight level parking garage was also constructed adjacent to the hotel with a pedestrian bridge connecting to the hotel at the second floor.

This unique in-fill Hampton Inn and Suites was completed from start to finish in just a little over 12 months.
