About Us

While other builders are busy being brokers, JJW focuses on being the best general contractor for Florida’s residential, hospitality, commercial, retail and industrial needs.

  • JJW continues to build on its history of providing superior quality with each project it delivers.
  • JJW becomes a partner with its clients, working with architects and engineers in the pre-construction phase to plan the most cost-effective team approach saving clients’ time and money.
  • The hallmark of JJW Construction is its concrete formwork and rough carpentry, which typically comprise of a third of any project’s scope. This has long been an area that other builders sub out, but JJW’s tight control of this critical aspect ensures cost-efficiency and quality control.
  • This attention to detail, tight scheduling and partnership style frames the winning touch for JJW and its clients.

Joseph J. Walsh

Mr. Walsh has a vast background of construction experience spanning nearly 40 years in the construction industry. After graduation from the University of Miami, Mr. Walsh joined Frank J. Rooney, Inc. for four years where he entered as an Estimator and eventually served as a Project Manager. The projects he was involved with were primarily high-rise structures, many of which are along the Galt Ocean Mile in Ft. Lauderdale.

After only four years, Joe’s project management experience opened up an opportunity for him to become Vice President of Operations with another major construction firm. In the next six years, Mr. Walsh worked on many high-rise structures, office buildings and other buildings of many different types. In 1971, market conditions were right for this young, ambitious builder to open up his own general contracting firm as J.J. Walsh Construction, Inc. Having a ‘silent’ yet vested partner, Joe directed, very successfully, all operations of this firm until March of 1984. In 1984, Mr. Walsh sold his interest in J.J. Walsh Construction, Inc. to his partner.

Since 1984, from an initial start-up investment of $15,000 and a first year volume of approximately $1 million to an average volume of nearly $50 million, Joe Walsh along with his son Tom, formed JJW Construction, Inc. Tom Walsh has been President of the company since 1990 and has continued the successful management and performance of the company with The Tradition of Excellence.

President’s Message

Tom Walsh

tom walshConstruction is what we do – and we do it well. Building isn’t just a livelihood or a job for us, its our craft – it’s what we love to do. As a result, JJW is known for delivering outstanding, and often complex, projects to clients in a variety of industries located throughout Florida.

Some companies strive to be the biggest. We don’t. We strive to be the best general contractor in Florida. Because we are experienced hands-on providers of concrete formwork and carpentry, we craft the core of all our projects and provide them with the structural integrity that is essential to successful end use. That hands-on experience is one of several things that truly makes us different – and better – than other contractors.

JJW Construction frames our success on relationships built on integrity, trust and confidence. Working together with clients, we create a team approach that produces projects with shorter timelines and tighter cost controls. And, ultimately this approach produces satisfied long-term clients. So, while other contractors are venturing into other forms of management, we’ll stick with what we know best – delivering outstanding construction projects to our clients.

We invite you to experience the best that contracting has to offer – we promise to deliver the best product you’ve ever received. That’s not just an empty promise. To us, it’s the reason we exist.

We look forward to joining your team.
